What this watch covered
On the morning of Oct 6, 2026, Get Live checked US TikTok Shop Seller University (TikTok Shop Academy), For Sellers. Both lists moved. A catalog course, Manage Products: Manage Listings and Complete Bulk Actions with Seller Assistant, now leads Latest courses. Restricted Products Policy is back at the top of Latest policies, and Refurbished Electronics Requirements is new to the visible policy top four in this series. All three are badged UPDATE and labeled Updated Oct 5, 2026.
This post is for brands that pay for TikTok Shop operations: founders, e-commerce leads, and whoever owns the shop's P&L. A bulk-edit tool that can change prices and stock from one sentence is a catalog and finance control. Restricted products and refurbished electronics are qualification and compliance work. None of it is a creator manager reading a card title.

- Refurbished Electronics Requirements — badged UPDATE, Updated Oct 5, 2026. Essay opened, article date 10/05/2026. New to the visible policy top four in this series.

Compared with Oct 3, one course and two policies are not in today's recorded top fours: Targeted Collaboration Playbook, Dietary Supplements Requirements, and Over-the-Counter (OTC) Medications Requirements. A card leaving the top slots means Academy is surfacing something else. It does not mean the document was withdrawn.

Manage Products: Manage Listings and Complete Bulk Actions with Seller Assistant
Manage Products: Manage Listings and Complete Bulk Actions with Seller Assistant leads Latest courses. The essay sits under US Academy › Feature Guide › Seller › Manage Products › Add/Edit Products, prints 10/05/2026 under the title, and says it applies to the United States.
The page says the upgraded Manage Products page “brings product status, performance, stock, pricing, listing quality, and Seller Assistant into one workspace,” and that you can review products that need attention, complete suggested tasks, and describe bulk changes in natural language without leaving the page. Under “What is new,” it says Seller Assistant can identify products that match your instructions, prepare changes to stock, retail price, listing status, or titles, and show a preview before anything is submitted. The access path it gives is Seller Center, then Products > Manage Products.
Tabs and the product table
The essay lists four top-level tabs: Live, Reviewing, Needs attention, and Deactivated. Nested under Needs attention it lists Suspended by platform (products that are suspended and require seller action where available), Frozen by platform (no longer active, cannot be edited, not available for sale), and Rejected. It says a red dot may appear when there are new items to check, and that when an update is rejected, the previously approved version may remain live. The product table shows performance from the most recent 28 days (sales, units sold, and views, with day-by-day GMV, orders, and views), stock (available, reserved, and committed quantities may be shown), price (retail, list, and promotion price where applicable), listing quality, and status and alerts.
What Seller Assistant can change, per the page
The essay says Seller Assistant can “currently help with bulk changes to” four fields, and it prints an example for each:
- Stock — “Set stock to 100 for all low-stock products.” Changes take effect after confirmation.
- Retail price — “Lower prices by 10% for products priced above $70.” Changes take effect after confirmation.
- Listing status — “Activate all selected deactivated products.” Changes take effect after confirmation.
- Product title — “Update the titles using the suggested changes.” Updated titles are submitted for review.
The steps it gives: enter the request, review the products Seller Assistant selected and compare current and new values, deselect products you do not want to change (and, where supported, edit values or send a follow-up), select Apply changes and confirm, then check the results page for completed and failed changes. The page says, “You approve every change. Entering a request does not change your products immediately.”
From the essay's FAQ, the limits worth copying onto a ticket:
- A single action can process up to 50 products. If more match, you complete the first group and continue with the rest.
- Title changes are submitted for product review. The previously approved title may remain visible until the new one is approved.
- Category, product attributes, brand, main images, and product descriptions are not currently supported through this workflow.
- Excel file upload is not currently supported in this workflow.
- For some task-card workflows, the suggested value cannot be changed. You can only choose which products to include.
- The page notes that feature availability and supported actions may vary by seller, product, or account.
Task cards and the bulk-action prompt
The essay says task cards highlight product actions, and that supported experiences “may include” Title and SEO, Promotional pricing, and Buy More Save More (where you review deal details and create the deal after confirmation). It says products are selected by default where applicable. It also describes a prompt that may appear if you edit the same type of field, such as stock or price, several times. Selecting Show me opens the bulk workflow.
Get Live's read
This is a real control change for a brand, not just a course. One sentence typed into Seller Assistant can move retail price or stock on up to 50 products. The page's preview-and-confirm step is the safeguard TikTok built. The safeguard a brand needs is deciding who is allowed to press confirm. Our view: price changes through Seller Assistant should follow the same sign-off as any other price change, and promotional pricing from task cards should go through whoever owns the promotions calendar. That matters more now that TikTok says GMV Max will weigh coupons and other costs. See our Oct 5 advertiser-updates post.
Two details are easy to miss. Titles go to review, so an AI-suggested title is not live when you confirm it, and the old title may stay up. And the “Suspended by platform” and “Frozen by platform” views under Needs attention are where account-health work starts. Someone should check them on a schedule. Our Sep 17 watch logged the How Seller Assistant Works card, and the Sep 22 watch logged the Edit products and bulk listing cards. This essay is a different, later document. It does not replace either.
Latest policies #1 · hub UPDATE · Updated Oct 5, 2026 · essay article date 10/05/2026
Restricted Products Policy
Restricted Products Policy leads Latest policies again, badged UPDATE and labeled Updated Oct 5, 2026. The essay we opened prints 10/05/2026. The Oct 2 post read the essay dated 10/01/2026 and did not reprint its category table. So this section reports what the 10/05/2026 page says. It is not a diff.
The key points say that to sell restricted products, sellers must meet approval rules at the category level or the product level, and that approval is not guaranteed. TikTok Shop may request additional documentation at any time during the listing process or while the product is live. The page describes three levels. Category-level qualification means submitting documentation for a category in the Qualification Center, after which a seller can list any product in that category. Product-level qualification means documentation for each product. Invite-only qualification means selected sellers are invited and apply through the Qualification Center.
The page says sellers must accurately categorize and describe products, avoid miscategorizing or deceptively describing products to get around restrictions, provide additional information or guarantees for certain restricted categories, and comply with laws in every jurisdiction they sell or ship to. Corrective actions it lists include, among others, immediate suspension or termination of selling privileges, removing listings, destruction of inventory without reimbursement, issuing refunds to customers, temporary or permanent withholding of payments, and termination of the business relationship. It points enforcement to the Seller Enforcement Policy and appeals to the Appeals section.
How the 10/05/2026 page organizes categories
The “Products Requiring Qualification” section groups category policies under seven headings: Electronics, Appliances, and Transportation; Family, Kids, and Pet Products; Fashion, Jewelry, and Collectibles; Food, Health, and Personal Care; Hazardous and Dangerous Goods; Home, Garden, and Outdoor Products; and Special Commerce, Pre-Owned, and Digital Products. Under the first heading the page links Refurbished Electronics Requirements, alongside Household Appliances, Electronics, and others. We are not reprinting every row. Open the page and copy the row your SKU sits in.
The invite-only section says these categories are only permitted through an invite-only process, and that there may be additional category-level or product-level requirements. As printed on 10/05/2026: Automotive Parts, Vehicles, and Powersports; Breaks; Collectibles: Antiques, Coins, and Currency; Dietary Supplements; Fresh and Frozen Packaged Food Products; Health Monitors and High-Risk Medical Devices; Lucky Scoops; Over-the-Counter Medications; Pet Healthcare and Frozen Food; Pre-Owned Products: Luxury Apparel, Fine Jewelry, and Luxury Watches; Refurbished Products; Smart Earphones and Headphones; and Virtual Goods. The Oct 2 post quoted two of those phrases from the 10/01/2026 page. We cannot say whether Refurbished Products, or any other row, was added on Oct 5.
Latest policies #2 · hub UPDATE · Updated Oct 5, 2026 · essay article date 10/05/2026 · new to the top four
Refurbished Electronics Requirements
Refurbished Electronics Requirements is #2, badged UPDATE and labeled Updated Oct 5, 2026. The essay prints 10/05/2026 and sits under Policy Center › Seller › Sell by Category. Its key points open with the line that matters most: selling refurbished electronic products “is limited to invite-only sellers,” and sellers must receive approval before listing or offering any.
The page defines refurbished electronic products as pre-owned devices or appliances that have been repaired, cleaned, tested, and restored for resale. Its examples are refurbished laptops, mobile phones, tablets, and smartwatches, plus refurbished air purifiers, dishwashers, washing machines and dryers, and fryers. It says refurbishment must be done by the manufacturer, a manufacturer-authorized refurbisher, or a qualified third-party refurbisher. It says refurbished electronics are also subject to the Restricted Products Policy, Prohibited Products Policy, and Dangerous Goods Requirements. (One key-point sentence on the page says sellers must comply with this document and the Restricted Products Policy “when listing household appliances.” We quote it as printed.)
What cannot be listed as refurbished
The page says a product may not be listed where the model is no longer reasonably serviceable or supported: critical manufacturer security or software support has ended, replacement parts or batteries are no longer reasonably available, or the product cannot meet functionality, battery-health, or diagnostic requirements. Its non-exhaustive prohibited list: automotive products and parts; FDA-regulated devices; safety-critical equipment such as smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors; baby electronics such as baby monitors, formula makers, and bottle warmers; and children's products designed or intended primarily for children 12 or younger.
Condition, quality, and data
A product may be called Refurbished only if a qualifying refurbisher inspected, tested, and, where necessary, repaired it. Otherwise it must be identified as Used, under a condition TikTok Shop makes available. Sellers must name the refurbisher type, pick the condition that matches the item, “use the lower grade” when unsure between two, and not overstate condition or hide defects. The condition grades themselves appear on the page as an image, which we did not transcribe.
Quality rules include testing battery and charging, replacing worn consumables such as filters and brushes where needed, keeping original labels, serial numbers, and safety markings legible, and disclosing any non-OEM replacement part (the page's example wording is “Contains non-OEM replacement [component]”). End-user data must be sanitized under NIST Special Publication 800-88 Revision 2 or applicable local requirements, and sellers or refurbishers must keep verifiable evidence of sanitization for at least 3 years after the sale. Refurbished household appliances carry extra cleaning rules, such as sanitizing food- and water-contact parts under applicable NSF/ANSI standards, draining tanks, and drying fully before packing.
Listings and documents
Listings must disclose, where applicable, condition, refurbisher type, brand, battery health where reasonably measurable, warranty if offered, included and missing accessories, known defects, and any non-OEM parts. The page adds that condition and performance claims made “during LIVE or other product promotion” must match the product's actual condition and what was disclosed, and that lithium-battery products must meet DOT and other transport rules.
The page says eligible sellers may be required to submit documentation before listing. Manufacturers and brand owners selling under their own brand must show they are registered as the Trademark Owner through the Qualification Center. Resellers must provide itemized invoices for qualifying refurbished purchases in the previous 365 days. The page says retail receipts, order confirmations, manifests, sales quotes, and pro forma invoices are not accepted. Both roles must provide product and packaging images (screens shown on, without protective film). Sellers of data-bearing devices may be required to submit diagnostic and data-erasure reports showing compliance with NIST SP 800-88 Revision 2 or an equivalent standard. The page says TikTok Shop currently accepts those reports only from Phonecheck, Blancco, or Blackbelt. EnergyGuide label images are required for products covered by the FTC Energy Labeling Rule (16 CFR Part 305). Enforcement actions it lists include rejecting your application, Account Health Rating point deductions, listing removal, revoked selling access, and customer refunds.

For most brands, the first line answers everything: refurbished is invite-only. If you have not been invited, the job is to know the rule so nobody lists an open-box or returned unit as Refurbished. The page's Used condition exists for a reason. For brands that are invited, or that sell electronics with a trade-in or returns stream, the LIVE line matters. A host who calls a unit “basically new” is making a condition claim the page says must match the listing. Our LIVE selling guide covers host briefs, and this is one more line for them.

Honesty boundary
What this post does and does not say
- We will claim: the eight hub rows above with the labels this morning's watch printed; that we opened the three Updated Oct 5 essays and each reads 10/05/2026; the Manage Products tabs, fields, limits, and FAQ lines quoted from that essay; the qualification levels, seven group headings, enforcement list, and invite-only list quoted from Restricted Products Policy; and the eligibility, prohibited list, condition, quality, data, listing, and document lines quoted from Refurbished Electronics Requirements.
- We will not claim: the refurbished condition grades (an image we did not transcribe); a diff of Restricted Products Policy against the 10/01/2026 page; that Refurbished Products is newly invite-only; that any seller or SKU qualifies; anything from the five cards we did not re-open; or how Seller Assistant behaves on your account, which the page says may vary.

Operating calendar
How Get Live uses this
Get Live runs TikTok Shop for brands, including the catalog, creator programs, and LIVE. We read Seller University so a hub rotation becomes a dated task with an owner: a sign-off rule before anyone bulk-edits prices by prompt, a category check before anyone lists against Restricted Products, and a host brief that matches the condition on the listing. Our TikTok Shop management guide shows the full operating surface. We quote TikTok's documents when we have opened them and say so when we have not. We do not publish client results on news posts. If you would rather have a team own this for your shop, see what we do on the TikTok Shop agency page, or hire Get Live to run it.
